Farming is a way of life for Randy Peyton of Peyton Farm Services. He has been farming for 40 years and takes great joy in being a good steward of the land. He currently provides invaluable farm services like efficient grading and fencing for farms all over Loudoun County.
“I chose farm services because I’d been farming with my uncle in Lovettsville since I was a child, and I loved the work,” said Peyton. “After working for a few different farmers over the years, I decided to start working for myself in 2000.”
Peyton was raised in the farming business and knew what a great atmosphere it was for raising a family. He grew up looking forward to visiting his uncle on the farm and wanted the same way of life for his own family.
“I knew at an early age this is what I wanted to do. I started by planting corn and working cattle, now I provide farm services,” he said. “One of the most valuable things I’ve learned over the years is how to respect animals and be in tune with how they work and grow. Plants are the same way.” He enjoys every step of the work from plowing to growing to selling.
Today, Peyton focuses mainly on performing fencing and dirt work, like grading, for other farmers. He also still grows hay on his own land to cut and sell to farmers throughout the county.
