The best way to enjoy all that Loudoun farms have to offer is to plan ahead for travel and weather considerations.

Weather: The forecast looks great for Saturday, under partly cloudy skies and highs in the mid-60’s. This is the perfect weather for outdoor pursuits like hayrides, U-pick pumpkin patches and corn mazes.

Sunday looks to be a better forecast for visiting markets, farm-to-table restaurants, wineries and breweries, as there is a less-than-50-percent chance of rain in the forecast all day long. Go both days to experience a cross-section of what Loudoun has to offer!

Traffic: While we hope for a seamless travel experience on your self-guided tour, the truth is that part of rural Loudoun’s charm is dirt roads, single-lane bridges, and the occasional traffic delay behind a tractor. We kindly ask that you have patience and build in some extra travel time.

Rt. 15 North at Morven Park: In addition to the Fall Farm Tour, it is also the annual Rummage Sale at Morven Park, just north of Leesburg. While road improvements have been made to this road in the last year (including a longer left-turn lane), this is frequently a point of congestion as cars wait to enter the park. Please save extra time going in both directions or consider accessing Lucketts and Lovettsville by way of Waterford.

Woodgrove Road in Round Hill: VDOT has announced that Woodgrove Road (Route 719) between Allder School Road (Route 711) and Edgegrove Road (Route 716) will be closed to through traffic Saturday, Oct. 19 from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. for stormwater pipe replacement. Through traffic will be detoured via Allder School Road, Hillsboro Road (Route 690), Route 9 and Stony Point Road (Route 719) back to Woodgrove Road.

Any traffic or business updates that we have throughout the weekend will be announced on our Twitter account. Please follow @LoudounFarms for the latest news and photos from the farms.
