Originally launched in 2020, Future Harvest’s Feed the Need mini grants are back for 2025! They’re offering grants of $2,000 to $3,000 to local farmers who are dedicated to growing or raising food for their chosen food assistance providers.
Future Harvest, a membership non-profit devoted to strengthening farming and the regional food economy, believes that local farmers are uniquely positioned to address the critical need for fresh produce within local communities. This renewed funding is made possible thanks to the generosity of several private donors, as well as a significant grant from CareFirst BlueCross BlueShield.
How to Apply
Farmers interested in participating are invited to complete the short application by July 11, 2025. Future Harvest plans to inform all grantees by July 31st.
Farmers in Maryland, DC, and Virginia are invited to apply, though there is geographic preference for specific areas.
Future Harvest previously awarded 22 grants from a pool of 102 applicants, totaling more than $40,000 in grant funding.
