Loudoun students will enjoy another All-Star roster of farmer trading cards this spring, thanks to a strong collaboration between Loudoun Economic Development and the Loudoun County Public Schools’ Nutrition Services office.

The award-winning initiative, now in its sixth year, has become a favorite among students and farmers alike. This year, in addition to the physical cards, students will receive video messages from each of the featured farmers, showing them an educational aspect of farming. Hear from Farmer Chris of Lutman Farm:

Produces/Grows: High quality horse hay, corn, soybeans, wheat, and straw.

What is fun about farming: Driving big equipment! In all seriousness, I enjoy that no day is the same on the farm.
What is something you’ve learned: Every growing season is different. Mother Nature always has the last say and you must be prepared for changes.
What is special about your farm: Our farm has been in the family for 5 generations. Today, 3 generations are working the farm as we continue to grow and innovate.
