On market days faithful shoppers attend the market because it reconnects them with their food sources. Our markets are “producer only” meaning that the vendor must be the grower or producer of ALL the products they sell. Our members must produce within a 125 mile radius of Loudoun County. Before Countryside, Cascades, and Dulles Town Center, there were African American-owned farms in the Sterling Area. The program is FREE and open to the public. Reservations not required. Presenters: Donna Bohanon - Black History Committee of the Friends of the Thomas Balch Library Lori Kimball - Loudoun Heritage Farm Museum Joan Martin Smith - Granddaughter of Flora and William Edds Richard Nokes and family - Descendants of the Nokes family Historic documents from the Loudoun County Courthouse will be on display. Presented by the Loudoun Heritage Farm Museum, Black History Committee of the Friends of the Thomas Balch Library, and the Clerk of the Circuit Court.
