FARMING IN STERLING: THE EDDS, EWING, AND NOKES FAMILIES

Before Countryside, Cascades, and Dulles Town Center, there were African American-owned farms in the Sterling Area. The program is FREE and open to the public. Reservations not required.

Presenters:

  • Donna Bohanon – Black History Committee of the Friends of the Thomas Balch Library
  • Lori Kimball – Loudoun Heritage Farm Museum
  • Joan Martin Smith – Granddaughter of Flora and William Edds
  • Richard Nokes and family – Descendants of the Nokes family

Historic documents from the Loudoun County Courthouse will be on display.

Presented by the Loudoun Heritage Farm Museum, Black History Committee of the Friends of the Thomas Balch Library, and the Clerk of the Circuit Court.
