Loudoun’s Spring Farm Tour:
Fresh Food and Fun for the Whole Family
Fifty Loudoun County farms, craft beverage producers and special event venues will be open to the public for the Spring Farm Tour, which runs from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday, May 20-21. This event is a self-guided tour where participants can visit as many or as few tour sites as they wish, focusing on venues that interest them the most. Free printed brochures listing all the sites are available at county libraries and community centers, and online at: LoudounFarms.org/FarmTour.
“Taking friends and family out to the Spring Farm Tour is a great way to support small businesses that feed our community and strengthen our economy,” said Loudoun Economic Development Executive Director Buddy Rizer.
There are nine new sites on the tour this year:
“There’s such an amazing variety of things to experience during the Spring Farm Tour,” said Loudoun Agricultural Development Officer Kellie Hinkle. “For example, there’s a lavender farm where you can eat lavender-infused ice cream. You can take a selfie with an alpaca or ride a Mammoth donkey. You can experience equine-assisted therapy or learn how to spin wool from newly-sheared sheep. There are fun, hands-on activities and fresh farm food for all ages.”
Farm tour participants are invited to share their tour experiences on social media using the hashtag #LoudounFarmTour. You can also download the PS MyCounty app available on iTunes and Google Play stores. The Spring Farm Tour is part of Loudoun Small Business Week; for more details, visit LoudounSBW.org.
